Verify the printer is powered on and paper is loaded. Check for error messages in the HP printer software and follow onscreen instructions. For USB connections, disconnect and reconnect the cable. Confirm the printer is not paused or offline in the Control Panel (Windows) or System Preferences (Mac). Restart the print spooler service or restart your computer if needed. Use the HP Print and Scan Doctor utility (Windows) to diagnose and fix issues automatically.
Low Print Quality or Missing Colorsexpand_more
Check that you are using original HP 65 or HP 65XL cartridges. Verify the cartridge protective tape was completely removed. Use high-quality HP paper with the ColorLok certification for best results. In the printer software, select the correct paper type and quality setting. Align the cartridges by opening the printer software, clicking "Print & Scan," then "Maintain Your Printer," and selecting "Align Cartridges." If problems persist, clean the cartridges using the same menu path and select "Clean Cartridges."
Cartridge Error or Not Detectedexpand_more
Check the Ink Alert light and Ink Level icons on the control panel. Remove both cartridges and verify the plastic protective tape has been completely removed from each one. Wipe the gold electrical contacts on each cartridge with a dry, lint-free cloth. Also clean the printer's cartridge contacts inside the carriage. Reinsert both cartridges firmly until they click into place. If one cartridge is defective, the printer enters single cartridge mode automatically. To resolve persistent issues, try replacing the problematic cartridge with a new original HP cartridge.
