HP DeskJet 2676 Manual — Setup, Troubleshooting & Cartridge Guide
The HP DeskJet 2676 is a compact all-in-one inkjet printer designed for everyday printing, copying, and scanning. This guide covers complete setup instructions, wireless connectivity, cartridge management, and comprehensive troubleshooting solutions to keep your printer running smoothly.
Product Setup
Load Paper and Media
Raise the input tray, adjust the paper-width guide, and insert your paper with the print side facing up. For small-size or specialty paper, load from the far-right side of the tray and adjust the guide snugly against the paper.
Install Cartridges
Open the cartridge access door and wait for the carriage to center. Remove protective plastic tape from both HP 65 cartridges, then slide them into their slots at a slight upward angle until they click into place. Close the access door securely.
Install Printer Software
Insert the setup CD or download the HP printer software from hp.com. Follow the installation wizard, then connect via USB cable or wireless network. The HP Smart app is also available for iOS, Android, and Windows 10 devices.
Configure Settings
Access the embedded web server (EWS) to adjust paper size detection, enable Quiet Mode, set Sleep mode timing, and configure energy-saving options. The control panel display shows wireless status and ink levels for quick reference.
Pro-Tip: Do not touch the copper-colored contacts or the ink nozzles. Touching these parts can result in clogs, ink failure, and bad electrical connections.
WiFi Connection Guide
Wireless Network Setup
Press the Wireless button to enable wireless capabilities. Use the HP printer software or HP Smart app to connect to your home or office network. The Wireless light and signal bars on the control panel display indicate connection status and signal strength.
Wi-Fi Direct Connection
Press and hold the Wireless button and Resume button together for three seconds to enable Wi-Fi Direct. Connect mobile devices or computers directly to the printer without a router. The Wi-Fi Direct icon on the display shows connection status and can support up to five simultaneous connections.
