HP DeskJet 2633 Manual — Setup, Troubleshooting & WiFi Guide
The HP DeskJet 2633 is a compact wireless all-in-one inkjet printer designed for home and small office use, offering print, scan, and copy capabilities in one affordable device. It connects via Wi-Fi and Wi-Fi Direct, making it easy to print from smartphones, tablets, and laptops without a USB cable. This page covers everything from initial setup and loading paper to cartridge replacement, error codes, and wireless troubleshooting.
Product Setup
Unbox and Power On
Remove all packaging materials and tape from the printer, then plug the power cord into a functioning outlet. Press the Power button on the control panel to turn the printer on and wait for it to initialize completely before proceeding.
Install the Ink Cartridges
Open the cartridge access door and wait for the print carriage to move to the center. Remove the HP 65 black and tri-color cartridges from their packaging, pull off the plastic tape using the pull tab without touching the electrical contacts, and slide each cartridge into its matching slot until it clicks into place, then close the access door.
Load Paper into the Input Tray
Raise the input tray and slide the paper-width guide to the left. Insert a stack of plain white paper with the short edge down and print side up into the input tray, then slide the paper-width guide snugly against the edge of the paper. Lower the output tray and pull out the output tray extender to catch printed pages.
Install Software and Connect Wirelessly
Download and install the HP printer software or the HP Smart app from 123.hp.com on your Windows, iOS, or Android device. Follow the on-screen instructions to connect the HP DeskJet 2633 to your wireless network, or press the Wireless button on the printer to begin the Wi-Fi setup process automatically.
Pro-Tip: Do not touch the copper-colored contacts or the ink nozzles. Touching these parts can result in clogs, ink failure, and bad electrical connections.
WiFi Connection Guide
Wireless Network (Wi-Fi)
Connect the HP DeskJet 2633 to your home or office Wi-Fi network using the HP Smart app or HP printer software. Press the Wireless button on the control panel to enable wireless capability — the Wireless light will blink while connecting and remain solid once the printer is successfully connected to your network. You can verify connection status by pressing the Wireless and Information buttons simultaneously to print a Wireless Network Test Report.

Important Safety Instructions
- Always turn off the HP DeskJet 2633 using the Power button and wait for the Power light to go out before unplugging — this prevents the HP 65 cartridge nozzles from drying out.
- Check estimated ink levels regularly from the HP printer software or the control panel Ink Level icons, and keep a spare HP 65XL cartridge on hand to avoid unexpected printing delays.
- Align cartridges after installing new HP 65 or HP 65XL cartridges by using the 'Align Cartridges' tool in the HP printer software under 'Maintain Your Printer' to ensure optimal print quality.
- Clean the scanner glass periodically with a soft, lint-free cloth to remove dust and smudges that can reduce copy and scan quality — lift the scanner lid and gently wipe the glass surface before closing it.
