HP DeskJet 2632 Manual — Setup, Troubleshooting & WiFi Guide
The HP DeskJet 2632 is a compact wireless all-in-one inkjet printer designed for home and small office use, offering print, scan, and copy functionality with HP 65 and HP 65XL ink cartridges. It connects easily to your network via Wi-Fi and is compatible with the HP Smart app on iOS, Android, and Windows 10 devices. This page covers full setup instructions, wireless connection methods, cartridge maintenance, troubleshooting tips, and technical specifications.
Product Setup
Unbox and Power On
Remove all packaging materials and tape from the printer, including any inside the cartridge access door. Connect the power cord to the printer and a working outlet, then press the Power button to turn the printer on. Wait for the printer to complete its initialization sequence before proceeding.
Install the Ink Cartridges
Open the cartridge access door and wait for the print carriage to move to the center. Remove the HP 65 tri-color and black cartridges from their packaging, peel off the plastic tape using the pull tab, and slide each cartridge into the correct color-coded slot at a slight upward angle until it clicks into place. Close the cartridge access door to begin initialization.
Load Paper and Connect Wirelessly
Raise the input tray, slide the paper-width guide to the left, and insert a stack of plain white paper print-side up until it stops. Lower the output tray and extend the tray extender. Then press the Wireless button on the control panel and follow the on-screen prompts or use the HP Smart app to connect the printer to your Wi-Fi network.
Install HP Software and Print a Test Page
Download and install the HP printer software on your Windows or Mac computer, or install the HP Smart app from 123.hp.com on your mobile device. Once installed, open the software and use the toolbox to align the cartridges and print a diagnostic test page to confirm everything is working correctly.
Pro-Tip: Do not touch the copper-colored contacts or the ink nozzles. Touching these parts can result in clogs, ink failure, and bad electrical connections.
WiFi Connection Guide
Wireless Network Setup (WPS or HP Software)
Connect the DeskJet 2632 to your home Wi-Fi network by pressing the Wireless button on the control panel and following the HP printer software setup wizard on your Windows or Mac computer. Alternatively, use WPS by pressing the Wireless and Information buttons simultaneously and then pressing the WPS button on your router within two minutes. The Wireless light will remain solid when successfully connected.
Wi-Fi Direct (Device-to-Printer)
Wi-Fi Direct allows your smartphone, tablet, or laptop to print directly to the DeskJet 2632 without a shared Wi-Fi network. To enable it, press and hold the Wireless button and the Resume button together for three seconds until the Wi-Fi Direct icon appears on the control panel display. Search for the printer's Wi-Fi Direct name on your device and connect — up to five devices can connect simultaneously. Print the Wi-Fi Direct Guide by pressing the Information and Resume buttons at the same time.

Important Safety Instructions
- Always turn off the DeskJet 2632 using the Power button and wait for the light to go out before unplugging — this protects the HP 65 cartridges from drying out by capping the print nozzles properly.
- Check estimated ink levels regularly via the control panel display icons or through the HP printer software 'Estimated Levels' tab, and keep a spare HP 65XL cartridge on hand to avoid unexpected printing delays.
- Run the cartridge alignment tool from the HP printer toolbox after installing new HP 65 or HP 65XL cartridges to ensure the best possible print quality on the DeskJet 2632.
- Do not leave a removed cartridge outside the printer for more than 30 minutes — exposed nozzles can dry out and clog; if a cartridge must be removed, reinsert it as quickly as possible.
