Pro-Tip: Do not touch the copper-colored contacts or the ink nozzles. Touching these parts can result in clogs, ink failure, and bad electrical connections.

router

WiFi with Router (WPS)

Press and hold the Wireless button for 3 seconds to start WPS Push Button mode, then press the WPS button on your router. Connection completes in approximately 2 minutes. Alternatively, use the PIN method by pressing Wireless and Information buttons together for 5 seconds to print a PIN code and manually enter it in your router configuration.

WiFi Direct (No Router)

Press Wireless and Resume buttons together for 3 seconds to enable WiFi Direct. Up to 5 devices can connect directly to your printer using the WiFi Direct name (DIRECT-**-HP DeskJet 2732). Use the Information button to print your WiFi Direct password, or configure security settings through the Embedded Web Server for enhanced control.

Printer Won\'t Connect to WiFiexpand_more
Verify the printer is within 30 m (100 ft) of your wireless router and that both devices are powered on. Press the Wireless and Information buttons together to print the Wireless Network Test Report. Check the DIAGNOSTICS RESULTS section to identify connection issues. If signal is weak (only 1-2 Signal Bars showing), move the printer closer to the router. If using an HP+ printer, ensure it remains connected to the Internet via WiFi or Ethernet, as the cloud connection is required for operation.
Paper Jamexpand_more
Clear paper jams systematically starting with the input tray. Lift the input tray shield and use a flashlight to locate and gently remove jammed paper with both hands. Then check the output tray, cartridge access area, and the bottom cleanout door. Press Cancel to attempt automatic jam clearance. Always turn off and unplug the printer before manually clearing jams from the carriage area. Never use excessive force to prevent tearing paper inside the printer.
Print Quality Issuesexpand_more
First, verify you\'re using Original HP 65/65XL cartridges and check estimated ink levels from HP Smart or the control panel. Load high-quality HP paper or ColorLok standard paper that is flat and dry. Open HP printer software, go to Print & Scan, then Maintain Your Printer to align cartridges or clean them. If issues persist, print a Diagnostic Information page to check for white lines or faded color blocks. For best photo quality, use HP Advanced Photo Paper stored in its original sealed packaging.
Cartridge Not Detectedexpand_more
Remove the cartridge and verify the protective plastic tape has been completely removed from the bottom. Inspect both the cartridge electrical contacts (small gold dots) and the printer contacts (gold bumps) for debris or damage. Clean both sets of contacts with a dry, lint-free cloth. Reinsert the cartridge firmly until it clicks into place. If the Ink Level icon continues blinking after reinsertion, the cartridge may be incompatible or previously used. Only Original HP cartridges are supported, especially for HP+ printers.
Cannot Print to HP+ Printerexpand_more
HP+ printers require continuous Internet connection via WiFi or Ethernet and will not print when offline. Verify your printer is connected to the Internet and check the Signal Bars icon on the control panel. Confirm you are using only Original HP cartridges in official HP packaging—non-Original or refilled cartridges will prevent HP+ operation. If your printer has enabled HP+, it must stay connected to the Internet even if printing via USB cable. Reconnect to WiFi immediately if the connection drops to resume normal operation.

Important Safety Instructions

  • Always turn off the printer using the Power button and wait until internal motion stops before unplugging to protect cartridges from drying out
  • Keep cartridges in original sealed packaging at room temperature (15-35°C) until installation; remove plastic tape immediately before inserting into the printer
  • Do not clean the printhead unnecessarily as it wastes ink and shortens cartridge life; use the HP Smart app or printer software maintenance tools only when print quality degrades
  • Replace missing cartridges immediately and never leave cartridges unprotected outside the printer for more than 30 minutes to prevent nozzle clogging
  • Transport the printer flat and level with cartridges installed; avoid placing on its side, back, front, or top to prevent ink leakage and internal damage
