Printer Not Connecting to Wi-Fiexpand_more
Verify your wireless router is powered on and the printer is within 30 m (100 ft) of the access point. Check the Signal Bars icon on the control panel display—if only 1-2 bars show, the signal is weak. Press Wireless and Information buttons together to print the Wireless Network Test Report. Restore network settings by pressing Wireless and Cancel buttons for 3 seconds, then reconnect using HP Smart.
Pages Not Printingexpand_more
Ensure the printer is powered on and paper is loaded in the input tray. For HP+ printers, verify Internet connection and that Original HP cartridges are installed. Check the printer is not paused or offline in the print queue. Verify correct printer is set as default. Restart the print spooler service and clear the print queue if documents are stuck. If wireless connected, confirm connection stability through the Wireless Network Test Report.
Paper Jam Issuesexpand_more
First clear paper from the input tray. Lift the input tray shield and use a flashlight to inspect the paper path—remove any jammed paper gently with both hands. Check the output tray, cartridge access area, and bottom cleanout door. For bottom access, turn printer over and pull both tabs on the cleanout door. After clearing jams, press Cancel button to allow automatic jam clearing. Always turn off printer before accessing bottom areas.
Poor Print Qualityexpand_more
Use Original HP cartridges and high-quality HP paper or ColorLok certified paper. In printer software, select appropriate paper type and quality settings. Check estimated ink levels—if low, consider replacement. Align cartridges using the printer toolbox alignment utility. Print a diagnostics page to check for white lines or faded color blocks. If defects appear, clean the cartridges using the Clean Cartridges function in the printer toolbox.
Cartridge Error Messagesexpand_more
Remove and reinsert cartridges, ensuring plastic protective tape is completely removed. Verify cartridges match the correct colored slots. Clean electrical contacts on cartridges and printer contacts using a dry lint-free cloth. For HP+ printers, only Original HP cartridges in official packaging are supported. If the Ink Level icon blinks, the cartridge has a problem. Try single cartridge mode with just the functioning cartridge, or replace problematic cartridges with HP 67/67XL originals.

Important Safety Instructions

  • Always turn off the printer properly using the Power button and wait for all internal sounds to stop before unplugging
  • Store cartridges at room temperature (15-35°C or 59-95°F) in original sealed packaging until ready to install
  • Never leave cartridges unprotected outside the printer for more than 30 minutes to prevent nozzles from drying out
  • For HP+ printers, use only Original HP cartridges; non-Original or refilled cartridges will prevent printer operation
  • Do not clean the printhead unnecessarily as this wastes ink and shortens cartridge life
