Wi-Fi Direct Connection

Enable Wi-Fi Direct to print wirelessly from up to 5 devices without a router. Press and hold the Wireless and Resume buttons together for 3 seconds. Find the Wi-Fi Direct name (DIRECT-**-HP DeskJet 2700e series) and password by pressing the Information button.

Paper Jam in Input Trayexpand_more
Remove all paper from the input tray. Lift and hold the input tray shield and use a flashlight to locate jammed paper or foreign objects. Gently pull jammed paper with both hands to avoid tearing. Do not remove the input tray shield as it prevents debris from entering the paper path. Press the Cancel button to allow the printer to clear the jam automatically.
Cartridge Error or Low Inkexpand_more
Check the Ink Level icons on the printer display. If an error appears, remove the cartridge indicated in the error message and verify the protective plastic tape has been removed. Clean the cartridge electrical contacts (gold dots) with a dry, lint-free cloth. Reinstall the cartridge securely until it clicks. If the error persists, the cartridge may need replacement. Use only HP 65 or HP 65XL original cartridges.
Printer Not Printingexpand_more
Verify the printer is powered on and paper is loaded in the input tray. Check that the Wireless button light is steady blue, indicating an active connection. Confirm the printer is not paused or offline by checking Windows Devices and Printers settings. Restart the print spooler service if needed. For HP+ printers, ensure the printer is connected to the internet and original HP cartridges are installed.
Poor Print Qualityexpand_more
Use original HP cartridges and high-quality paper (HP paper or ColorLok standard). Check cartridge ink levels and replace if low. Align the cartridges by opening the HP printer software, clicking Print & Scan, then Maintain Your Printer, and selecting Align Cartridges. If color blocks show white lines or faded areas on a diagnostics page, run the Clean Cartridges utility from the Maintain Your Printer menu.
Wi-Fi Connection Issuesexpand_more
Verify the Wireless button light is steady blue. Check the Signal Bars icon—if only 1-2 bars appear, move the printer closer to the router (within 30 meters). Press the Wireless and Information buttons together to print the Wireless Network Test Report. Restore network settings by pressing and holding the Wireless and Cancel buttons for 3 seconds, then reconnect using the HP Smart app. Disconnect from any VPN before connecting to the printer.
