Product Setup
Load Paper into Input Tray
Raise the input tray, slide the paper-width guide to the left, and insert paper with the short edge down and print side up. Adjust the paper-width guide snugly against the paper edge and pull out the output tray extender.
Install Ink Cartridges
Open the cartridge access door on the front of the printer. Remove the protective plastic tape from both HP 65 or HP 65XL cartridges and insert them into the correct color-coded slots until they snap firmly into place.
Connect to Power and Turn On
Plug the power cord into a functioning outlet. Press the Power button to turn on the printer and wait for the startup sequence to complete. The Power button light will remain on when the printer is ready.
Configure Wireless Connection
Press the Wireless button to enable wireless mode, then use WPS push-button method or download HP printer software from 123.hp.com to connect to your network. Follow on-screen instructions to complete setup.
Pro-Tip: Do not touch the copper-colored contacts or the ink nozzles. Touching these parts can result in clogs, ink failure, and bad electrical connections.
