Unpack and Position Your Printer

Remove all packaging materials and place the HP DeskJet 3633 on a flat, stable surface near a power outlet. Ensure adequate ventilation around the printer for proper cooling during operation.

Load Paper and Install Cartridges

Raise the input tray and load plain paper with the print side facing up. Install HP 65 or HP 65XL black and tri-color ink cartridges into the cartridge access door, ensuring they snap securely into place. Remove all protective plastic tape before installation.

Connect Power and Turn On

Plug the power cord into a functioning outlet and press the Power button on the control panel. The printer will initialize and the Power button light will turn on, indicating the printer is ready for setup.

Install Printer Software

Visit 123.hp.com to download and install the HP printer software on your computer. During installation, you may be prompted to connect via USB cable temporarily. Once software is installed, choose your preferred connection method: wireless, Wi-Fi Direct, or USB.

Connect via Wireless Network

Connect your printer to an existing 2.4GHz wireless network using WPS push-button method or by entering your network credentials through the HP printer software. The Wireless light will remain solid blue when successfully connected.

Connect via Wi-Fi Direct

Press the Wi-Fi Direct button on the control panel to enable direct printing from mobile devices and computers without a router. Up to five devices can connect simultaneously, and the Wi-Fi Direct name and password are available on the printer information page.

If unsuccessful, open the cartridge access door and front door, locate the jammed paper in the print carriage area, and gently remove it without using tools. Close all doors and press the Resume button to continue printing. For paper jams inside the printer, flip it over, open the cleanout door on the bottom, remove jammed paper, close the door, and restart the printer.
