Load flat, high-quality HP paper or ColorLok-certified paper. Align ink cartridges by loading plain white paper and running the alignment tool from the printer toolbox. Important Safety Instructions

  • Always turn off the printer using the Power button and wait until the light goes out to protect cartridges from drying out
  • Do not remove protective tape from HP 65 or HP 65XL cartridges until ready to install; leaving tape on reduces ink evaporation
  • Reinstall removed cartridges as soon as possible; unprotected cartridges outside the printer begin drying out within 30 minutes
  • Store specialty and photo paper in original packaging inside a resealable plastic bag on a flat surface in cool, dry conditions
  • Avoid overfilling the input tray and remove printed papers from the output tray frequently to prevent paper jams
  • Keep the input tray shield in place to prevent foreign debris from causing serious paper jams
