If streaks or missing color appear, clean the cartridges using the cleaning utility in the printer software. Use high-quality HP paper or ColorLok-certified paper for best results.

Verify the printer is powered on and paper is loaded in the input tray. Check the control panel for error messages and resolve them. Verify the printer is not paused or set to offline mode in Windows Devices and Printers settings. Restart the print spooler service and verify the printer is set as the default printer. Disconnect and reconnect the USB cable if using a wired connection. Restart your computer and clear the print queue if jobs are stuck.

Important Safety Instructions

  • Always power off the printer using the Power button and wait until the light goes out to protect cartridges from drying out
  • Do not open or untape cartridges until ready to install; keep protective tape on until installation to reduce ink evaporation
  • Align cartridges regularly for optimal print quality, especially after replacement or if quality issues appear
  • Replace ink cartridges only when print quality becomes unacceptable; do not replace based on low-ink warnings alone
  • Store specialty and photo paper in original packaging inside resealable plastic bags on flat surfaces in cool, dry environments
