Remove all paper from the input tray. Lift the input tray shield and use a flashlight to locate jammed paper. Gently pull jammed paper with both hands to avoid tearing. Press the Cancel button to allow the printer to clear the jam automatically. Always check the input tray first as clearing it helps access other jam areas.
Cartridge Error or Not Detectedexpand_more
Remove both HP 65 or HP 65XL cartridges and verify the plastic protective tape has been completely removed. Wipe the gold-colored electrical contacts with a dry, lint-free cloth on both the cartridge and printer. Reinsert cartridges firmly until they click into place. If errors persist, replace cartridges or clean contacts again. Consult the control panel error codes for specific blinking light patterns.
Wireless Connection Dropsexpand_more
Verify your wireless router is powered on and the printer is within 30 meters (100 feet) of the access point. Check the Signal Bars icon on the control panel—if only 1-2 bars display, the signal is weak. Press the Wireless button and Information button simultaneously to print the Wireless Network Test Report. From the report, confirm your printer is connected to the correct network (SSID) and perform recommended troubleshooting steps.
Poor Print Qualityexpand_more
Ensure you are using genuine HP 65 or HP 65XL cartridges. Check ink levels—if low, consider replacement. Use HP paper or papers meeting the ColorLok standard for best results. In the printer software, verify correct paper type and quality settings are selected. Run the cartridge alignment utility and print a diagnostics page to check for nozzle defects. If color blocks show white lines or fading, clean the cartridges using the maintenance tools in the HP printer software.
Printer Will Not Printexpand_more
Verify the printer is powered on and paper is loaded in the input tray. For wireless connections, confirm the Signal Bars icon displays steady. Check that the printer is not paused or offline in Windows Devices and Printers. Ensure the HP DeskJet 4152 is set as the default printer. Verify cartridge access door is fully closed. If using USB, disconnect and reconnect the cable. Restart the print spooler service and clear the print queue if needed.

Important Safety Instructions

  • Always power off the printer using the Power button and wait until all internal sounds stop before unplugging to protect cartridges from drying out
  • Keep HP 65 and HP 65XL cartridges in their original sealed packaging until installation. Store at room temperature between 15-35°C (59-95°F)
  • Do not clean the printhead unnecessarily as this wastes ink. Only clean when print quality visibly degrades with white lines or missing colors
  • Check estimated ink levels monthly through the printer control panel, HP Smart app, or printer software to avoid running out unexpectedly
  • Transport the printer lying flat with cartridges installed to prevent ink leakage and internal damage
