Plug the power cord into a functioning outlet. Press the Power button to turn on the printer. Use the Wireless button on the control panel to connect to your wireless network, or use Wi-Fi Direct for direct mobile device printing without a router.

Paper Jam or Paper Feed Issuesexpand_more
Press the Cancel button to attempt automatic clearing. If the jam persists, manually remove paper from the input tray, output tray, or cartridge access area. Check for foreign objects in the paper path and ensure paper is loaded flat without bent edges. Press Resume to continue printing. To prevent future jams, avoid overfilling the input tray, remove printed pages frequently, and use uniform paper sizes.
Low Ink or Cartridge Problemsexpand_more
Check ink levels on the control panel display or in the printer software. If the Ink Alert light is on or blinking, verify both HP 65 and HP 65XL cartridges are fully inserted and the plastic protective tape has been removed. Clean cartridge contacts with a dry, lint-free cloth if errors persist. You can operate in single cartridge mode with one cartridge installed. Replace cartridges when print quality becomes unacceptable rather than at low-ink warnings.
Poor Print Qualityexpand_more
Verify you are using original HP 65 or HP 65XL cartridges. Check paper type in the printer software and use HP Advanced Photo Paper for images or ColorLok-certified paper for documents. Select appropriate print quality settings from the Quality dropdown. Align cartridges through the printer toolbox (Windows) or HP Utility (Mac). Print a diagnostic page to identify streaks or missing color sections, then run the cartridge cleaning utility if needed.
Printer Not Printingexpand_more
Ensure paper is loaded in the input tray and the printer is powered on. For USB connections, disconnect and reconnect the cable. Verify the printer is not paused or offline in Windows Devices and Printers. Set the HP DeskJet 3762 as your default printer. Restart the print spooler service through Administrative Tools. If wireless connected, press Wireless + Information buttons together to run a network test. Clear the print queue and restart your computer if issues persist.
Wireless Connection Problemsexpand_more
Check that the Wireless light is on and the wireless router is powered on. If the Wireless light is blinking with the Attention icon, move the printer closer to your router or ensure no interference from obstacles. Press Wireless + Information buttons to print a wireless network test report. Review the report for connection details and error messages. Use the HP Print and Scan Doctor utility (Windows) to diagnose connectivity issues automatically. For Wi-Fi Direct problems, ensure the Wi-Fi Direct light is on and your device sees the printer's network name.
