Paper Jam — How to Clearexpand_more

For jams in the cartridge access area, power off the printer, open the cartridge access door, slide the carriage to the right, and carefully remove the jammed paper. Close the door and press the Power button to restart, then press Resume to continue printing.
Printer Not Printing (Windows)expand_more
First, confirm the printer is powered on and paper is loaded in the input tray. Check for error messages in the HP printer software and follow the on-screen instructions. Verify the printer is not set to Paused or Use Printer Offline by opening Devices and Printers in the Control Panel. Make sure the HP DeskJet 3755 is set as the default printer, then restart the Print Spooler service under Administrative Tools if needed. Clear the print queue and restart your computer if the issue persists.
Cartridge Error or Ink Alert Light Onexpand_more
If the Ink Alert light is on and an Ink Level icon is blinking, a cartridge may be missing, improperly installed, or still have plastic tape covering the contacts. Remove the affected HP 63 cartridge, confirm the pull-tab tape has been fully removed, and reinsert it firmly until it clicks. If the error persists, clean the gold-colored electrical contacts on both the cartridge and inside the printer using a dry, lint-free cloth. Replace the cartridge if cleaning does not resolve the issue.
Poor Print Quality or Streaky Outputexpand_more
Start by confirming you are using genuine HP 63 or HP 63XL cartridges and that ink levels are not critically low. Check that you have selected the correct paper type and print quality in the printer software settings. Run a cartridge alignment from the printer software by clicking Print & Scan, then Maintain Your Printer, and selecting Align Cartridges. If streaks persist, print a diagnostic page and use the Clean Cartridges option in the Device Services tab to run an automatic cleaning cycle.
Wireless Connection Lost or Not Connectingexpand_more
If the Wireless light is blinking and the Wireless Attention icon appears, the printer has lost its network connection. Ensure your wireless router is powered on and that the printer is within range. Press the Wireless button and the Information button simultaneously to print a Wireless Network Test Report, which will identify the specific connection issue. You can also use the HP Print and Scan Doctor utility on Windows to automatically diagnose and repair wireless connectivity problems.

Important Safety Instructions

  • Always turn the printer off using the Power button and wait for the light to go out before unplugging — this parks the cartridges and prevents the HP 63 printheads from drying out.
  • Check estimated HP 63 / HP 63XL ink levels regularly via the Ink Level icons on the control panel display or through the HP printer software, and keep a replacement cartridge on hand to avoid printing delays.
  • Run a cartridge alignment from the HP printer software after installing new HP 63 cartridges to ensure the best possible print quality on your DeskJet 3755.
  • Do not open or remove the plastic pull-tab tape from a replacement HP 63 cartridge until you are ready to install it — keeping the tape on reduces ink evaporation and extends shelf life.
