Printer Not Printingexpand_more
Verify the printer is turned on and paper is loaded. Check that error messages from the HP Smart app or printer software are resolved. If you have an HP+ printer, confirm it is connected to the Internet and using Original HP cartridges. Verify the wireless connection is active by checking the Wireless button light. Make sure the printer is not paused or offline in your computer's print queue, and confirm it is set as the default printer.
Paper Jamexpand_more
First, clear paper from the input tray by removing all loose and jammed paper. Check the paper path using a flashlight and remove any foreign objects. If jam persists, check the output tray and cartridge access area. For jams underneath the printer, turn it off, disconnect power, open the cleanout door on the bottom, and remove jammed paper. Always pull paper gently with both hands to avoid tearing.
Cartridge Problemsexpand_more
If the Ink Level icon blinks, remove the cartridge and verify the protective plastic tape has been removed. Reinstall the cartridge securely until it clicks. If the error persists, clean the cartridge contacts with a dry lint-free cloth. Wipe only the gold-colored electrical contacts on both the cartridge and printer. Allow cartridges to be reinstalled within 30 minutes of removal to prevent nozzles from drying out.
Poor Print Qualityexpand_more
Ensure you are using original HP cartridges and check that ink levels are sufficient. Verify you are using high-quality HP paper or ColorLok® standard paper. In the printer software, select the correct paper type and quality settings. Align the cartridges by opening the HP printer software, clicking Print & Scan, then Maintain Your Printer, and selecting Align Cartridges. If issues persist, clean the cartridges through the same maintenance menu.
WiFi Connection Issuesexpand_more
Verify the Wireless button light is steady blue, indicating an active connection. Check the Signal Bars icon on the display; if only one or two bars show, move the printer closer to your router (within 30 meters). Print the Wireless Network Test Report by pressing the Wireless button and Information button together to diagnose connection issues. Restore network settings by pressing the Wireless button and Cancel button for 3 seconds, then reconnect using the HP Smart app. If using a VPN, disconnect before accessing the printer.
