Product Setup

Unbox and Power On

Remove all packaging materials and tape from inside and outside the printer. Connect the power cord and press the Power button to turn on the HP DeskJet 2800e. Wait for the printer to complete its initialization sequence before proceeding.

Open the cartridge access door and wait for the carriage to move to the center. Connect to Wi-Fi

Visit 123.hp.com on your computer or mobile device and download the HP Smart app to begin wireless setup. Make sure Wi-Fi is enabled on your device and that you are not connected to a VPN or remote work network during setup, as this can prevent the software from finding your printer. If you have an Ethernet cable connected, disconnect it temporarily to complete the Wi-Fi setup.

Load Paper and Print a Test Page

Load plain white paper into the input tray, adjusting the guides to fit snugly against the paper stack. Follow the on-screen prompts in the HP Smart app to print an alignment page, which ensures optimal print quality. Once complete, your HP DeskJet 2800e is ready to print, copy, and scan.
