1

Download the HP Smart App

Visit 123.hp.com or download the HP Smart app on your iOS, Android, Windows, or Mac device. Make sure your computer or mobile device is already connected to your Wi-Fi network and that you have your Wi-Fi password handy before proceeding.

2

Enable Auto Wireless Connect (AWC) Mode

Power on the printer and confirm it is in AWC setup mode — the light next to the Wireless button should blink blue and the Signal Bars will cycle on the display. If it is not in AWC mode, press and hold the Wireless button and the Cancel button together for 3 seconds until the light blinks blue.

3

Add the Printer in HP Smart

Open the HP Smart app and tap or click the Plus icon (+) on the home screen, then select your printer from the list. If it does not appear, choose 'Add Printer' or 'Set up a new printer' and follow the on-screen instructions to connect it to your wireless network. On iOS or Android, make sure Bluetooth is enabled to speed up the setup process.

4

Confirm Connection & Install Cartridges

Once connected successfully, the light next to the Wireless button will glow steady blue. Install the HP 67 or HP 67XL black and tri-color cartridges by sliding each into its slot at a slight upward angle until it clicks, then close the cartridge access door and run a test print to confirm everything is working.

Pro-Tip: Do not touch the copper-colored contacts or the ink nozzles. Touching these parts can result in clogs, ink failure, and bad electrical connections.

WPS Push Button Setup

If your router supports Wi-Fi Protected Setup (WPS), press and hold the Wireless button on the printer for at least 3 seconds, then press the WPS button on your router within 2 minutes. The Wireless button light will glow steady blue once the connection is established successfully. Supports both 2.4GHz and 5GHz networks (802.11b/g/n).

Wi-Fi Direct (No Router Needed)

Print wirelessly without a router by enabling Wi-Fi Direct — press and hold the Wireless button and the Resume button together for 3 seconds. Up to 5 devices can connect simultaneously using the DIRECT-**-HP DeskJet 2700 series network name. Find the Wi-Fi Direct name and password by pressing the Information button to print a printer information page.

Printer Won't Connect to Wi-Fiexpand_more
Confirm the Wireless button light is blinking blue (setup mode) and not off. Press the Wireless button and Information button simultaneously to print a Wireless Network Test Report and check the diagnostics results section. Make sure your router is powered on, the printer is within 30 m (100 ft) of the access point, and you are connecting to a 2.4GHz or 5GHz network. If needed, restore network defaults by holding the Wireless button and Cancel button for 3 seconds, then set up again via the HP Smart app.
Paper Jam or Paper Feed Issuesexpand_more
First press the Cancel button to let the printer attempt an automatic jam clear. If that fails, check the input tray, output tray, and cartridge access area for jammed paper, removing it gently with both hands to avoid tearing. For jams underneath the printer, turn the printer off, unplug the power cord, open the cleanout door on the bottom, and remove the paper before closing the door and restarting. Error code E4 (E and 4 blinking together with Resume light) indicates an active paper jam — press Resume after clearing.
Cartridge Error or Ink Alert Light Onexpand_more
Remove the indicated cartridge (HP 67 or HP 67XL) and confirm the protective plastic tape has been fully removed from the contacts. Reinsert it firmly until it clicks into place. If the error persists, clean the gold-colored electrical contacts on the cartridge and inside the printer using a dry, lint-free cloth. Do not leave cartridges outside the printer for more than 30 minutes as nozzles may dry out. If error code E0 appears (E and 0 blinking with Ink Alert light), there is a cartridge-specific fault — check the HP Smart app for details.
Poor Print Quality or Faded Colorsexpand_more
Ensure you are using genuine HP 67 or HP 67XL cartridges and HP-recommended paper. Open the HP printer software, go to Print & Scan > Maintain Your Printer, and run 'Align Cartridges' using a blank sheet of plain white letter or A4 paper. If color blocks on the diagnostics page show white lines or missing sections, run the 'Clean Cartridges' function from the Device Services tab. Also confirm the correct paper type and print quality settings are selected in the printer software preferences.
Printer Shows Error Code E6 or Stops Respondingexpand_more
Error code E6 (E and 6 blinking) indicates a general printer error state. Turn the printer off, unplug the power cord from the outlet, wait one full minute, then plug the cord back in and power the printer on again. If the issue persists after the reset, contact HP support at www.support.hp.com. For Windows users, the HP Print and Scan Doctor utility can automatically diagnose and resolve many printer errors including connectivity and hardware faults.

Important Safety Instructions

  • Always turn off the HP DeskJet 2752e using the Power button and wait for the light to go out — this parks the cartridges properly and prevents HP 67 / HP 67XL nozzles from drying out.
  • Keep both cartridges installed at all times when possible; if operating in single cartridge mode temporarily, reinstall the missing HP 67 cartridge as soon as possible to avoid clogging.
  • Align and clean cartridges periodically via the HP Smart app or printer software (Print & Scan > Maintain Your Printer) to maintain consistent color accuracy and print quality.
  • Store unused HP 67 or HP 67XL cartridges in their original sealed packaging at room temperature (15–35°C / 59–95°F) and only open them immediately before installation.
