USB Cable Connection

Although the USB port has a protective label encouraging wireless use, you can still print via USB cable if needed. Remove the label covering the USB port and connect directly to your computer for a stable, wired connection alternative.

Wireless Connection Issuesexpand_more
If your printer shows a WiFi disconnection status, first verify that the printer is within range of your wireless router. Check for Virtual Private Network (VPN) or remote work network interference, which can disrupt connectivity. Restart both the printer and router by turning them off for 30 seconds, then power them back on. If the issue persists, re-enter your WiFi network credentials through the printer's wireless setup menu.
Low Ink or Cartridge Error (E0)expand_more
An E0 error indicates an unusable cartridge that requires replacement. Check the HP software on your computer for detailed instructions on which cartridge needs to be replaced. Remove the defective HP 65 or HP 65XL cartridge, dispose of it properly, and install a new genuine HP cartridge by rotating it into place until it clicks.
Carriage Stall Error (E3)expand_more
A carriage stall error occurs when the print head mechanism is obstructed. Open the cartridge access area and carefully inspect for any paper jams, debris, or obstructions blocking the carriage movement. Gently remove any foreign objects and ensure all cartridges are properly seated. Close the access area and attempt to print again.
Low Ink Warning Lightexpand_more
When the low ink light activates, it indicates that one or more cartridges are running low on ink. While you can continue printing, quality may degrade. Order replacement HP 65 or HP 65XL cartridges based on your printer's specifications. Keep spare cartridges on hand to minimize printing interruptions.
USB Port Not Recognizedexpand_more
The USB port on the DeskJet 4222e is covered with a protective label to encourage wireless printing. To use USB, carefully peel off the label covering the USB port. Ensure you use a high-quality USB cable and connect directly to a USB port on your computer, not a hub. Reinstall the printer driver if the computer does not recognize the device.
