HP DeskJet 4210e Manual — Setup, Troubleshooting & WiFi Guide
The HP DeskJet 4210e is a compact all-in-one printer designed for home and small office use with wireless connectivity and affordable HP 65/65XL cartridge support. This guide covers initial setup, WiFi configuration, cartridge installation, and troubleshooting common issues to keep your printer running smoothly.
Product Setup
Unbox and Prepare Your Printer
Remove all protective materials and tape from the printer. Note that the USB port is labeled to encourage wireless connection setup. You can still use a USB cable for printing if needed, but WiFi is the recommended connection method.
Install HP 65 or 65XL Cartridges
Open the cartridge access area and insert the black and color cartridges. Rotate each cartridge so the taller end aligns with the slot, then push firmly until it clicks into place. Ensure cartridges are properly seated before closing the access door.
Connect to Power and WiFi
Plug in the printer and wait for it to fully initialize. Press the Wireless button to connect to your WiFi network. The wireless light will indicate connection status—a steady light means you're connected and ready to print.
Install Printer Software
Download the latest HP printer software for your operating system from HP's website or use the included installation disc. Follow the on-screen prompts to complete installation and configure your printer preferences.
Pro-Tip: Do not touch the copper-colored contacts or the ink nozzles. Touching these parts can result in clogs, ink failure, and bad electrical connections.
WiFi Connection Guide
Standard WiFi Connection
Press the Wireless button on your printer to initiate connection. Select your network from the available list and enter your WiFi password. The wireless light will confirm successful connection to your home or office network.
WiFi Direct Printing
Use WiFi Direct to print directly from your device without a WiFi network. Enable WiFi Direct mode on the printer and connect your smartphone or tablet to the printer's personal network for direct printing capability.
