Product Setup

Unbox and Power On

Remove all packaging materials and protective tape from the printer. Plug in the power cord and press the power button to turn the unit on. Wait for the printer to complete its startup cycle before proceeding.

Install Ink Cartridges

Open the cartridge door and wait for the print carriage to move to the center. Remove each cartridge from its packaging, peel off the pink pull-tab plastic tape, and slide each cartridge firmly into its slot until it clicks. Close the cartridge door when both cartridges are installed.

Load Paper and Align Cartridges

Load plain white letter or A4 paper into the input tray and open the output tray. The printer will prompt you to align the cartridges after a new installation — follow the on-screen instructions in the HP Printer Software to print and scan an alignment sheet for best print quality.

Connect USB and Install Software
