HP DeskJet 2332 Manual — Setup, Troubleshooting & WiFi Guide
The HP DeskJet 2332 is a compact all-in-one inkjet printer designed for home use, offering print, scan, and copy functionality in a budget-friendly package. It connects via USB and uses HP 65 or HP 65XL ink cartridges for reliable black-and-white and color output. This page covers setup instructions, troubleshooting tips, maintenance guidance, and full specifications for the DeskJet 2332.
Product Setup
Unbox and Position the Printer
Remove all packaging tape and materials from the HP DeskJet 2332, including any inside the cartridge access door. Place the printer on a flat, stable surface near your computer with enough space for paper to feed in and out freely.
Install the Ink Cartridges
Open the cartridge access door and wait for the carriage to move to the center. Insert the HP 65 Black cartridge into the left slot and the HP 65 Tri-color cartridge into the right slot, pressing each down until it clicks into place. Close the access door when both cartridges are secured.
Load Paper and Connect via USB
Load plain letter or A4 paper into the input tray and slide the paper-width guide snugly against the stack. Connect the USB cable from the HP DeskJet 2332 to your computer, then plug the power cord into the printer and a wall outlet and press the Power button.
Install Software and Set as Default Printer
Download and run the HP DeskJet 2332 driver from the official HP support site or use the included setup CD to install the printer software. Once installed, make sure the USB cable connections are secure and set the HP DeskJet 2332 as your default printer in your system settings.
Pro-Tip: Do not touch the copper-colored contacts or the ink nozzles. Touching these parts can result in clogs, ink failure, and bad electrical connections.
WiFi Connection Guide
USB Direct Connection
The HP DeskJet 2332 connects to your computer using a standard USB cable. Ensure the USB cable connections are secure at both ends and that the printer is set as your default printer in your operating system. This is the primary and only connectivity method for this model.
HP Print and Scan Doctor
If your computer does not detect the HP DeskJet 2332 over USB, use the free HP Print and Scan Doctor tool to diagnose and resolve connection issues automatically. This utility can reinstall drivers, fix spooler errors, and confirm the printer is correctly set as the default device on your system.

Important Safety Instructions
- Run the printhead cleaning utility from your HP printer software every few weeks if you print infrequently, to prevent the HP 65 cartridge nozzles from drying out and clogging.
- Clean the scanner glass and the white backing on the scanner lid with a soft, lint-free cloth to ensure sharp, smudge-free copies and scans on the DeskJet 2332.
- Replace HP 65 or HP 65XL cartridges promptly when the Ink Alert light activates — continuing to print with depleted cartridges can damage the printhead assembly.
- Keep the input tray clear of dust and debris, and store paper in a dry environment to prevent feed errors and paper jams in the HP DeskJet 2332.
