Product Setup
Unbox and Power On
Remove all packaging tape and materials from the HP DeskJet 2320, including any inside the cartridge access area. Connect the power cord to the printer and plug it into a wall outlet, then press the Power button to turn it on.
Install the Ink Cartridges
Open the cartridge access door and wait for the carriage to move to the center. Insert the HP 65 black cartridge into the left slot and the HP 65 tri-color cartridge into the right slot, pressing each firmly until it clicks into place.
Load Paper and Connect via USB
Load plain paper into the input tray and adjust the paper-width guides to fit snugly. Connect the USB cable between the HP DeskJet 2320 and your computer, ensuring the connections are secure at both ends and the printer is set as your default printer.
Install Software and Print a Test Page
Download and install the latest HP DeskJet 2320 driver from the HP support website or use the included setup guide. Once installed, print a test page to confirm the printer is working correctly and the ink cartridges are properly aligned.
Pro-Tip: Do not touch the copper-colored contacts or the ink nozzles. Touching these parts can result in clogs, ink failure, and bad electrical connections.

- Clean the printhead regularly using the HP DeskJet 2320 printer software to prevent clogging and maintain sharp print quality, especially if the printer has not been used for an extended period.
- Check HP 65 or HP 65XL ink cartridge levels frequently via the HP Smart app and replace cartridges before they run completely dry to avoid damage to the printhead.
- Wipe the scanner glass with a soft, lint-free cloth to remove dust, smudges, and fingerprints that can reduce scan and copy quality on the HP DeskJet 2320.
- Keep the input tray free of excess paper and debris, and fan sheets before loading to prevent multi-feeds and paper jams during print and copy jobs.
