Product Setup

Unbox and Power On

Remove all packaging materials and protective tape from the printer. Place it on a flat, stable surface near your computer and plug the power cord into a wall outlet. Press the Power button to turn the unit on.

Install the Ink Cartridges

Open the cartridge access door and wait for the print carriage to move to the center. Remove each HP 65 cartridge from its packaging, pull off the pink plastic tape tab, and slide each cartridge firmly into its slot until it clicks into place. Close the cartridge door.

Load Paper and Connect USB

Load a stack of plain white letter or A4 paper into the input tray, making sure the edges are straight and the paper-width guide fits snugly. Connect the USB cable (3 m or less recommended) from the printer to your computer.

Install Software and Align Cartridges

Install the HP DeskJet 2510 series Printer Software on your computer, then open it and navigate to Print & Scan > Maintain Your Printer > Device Services to align the ink cartridges. Follow the on-screen prompts to print and scan the alignment sheet for optimal print quality.

Press the Cancel button first to attempt an automatic jam clearance. If that does not work, identify where the jam is located. For jams near the input tray, gently pull the paper out from the back. For jams inside the printer, open the cleanout door on the bottom of the printer by pressing the tabs on both sides, remove the jammed paper, then firmly close the door until both latches snap into place. Make sure the printer is powered on and paper is loaded. Check for any error messages and resolve them first. Disconnect and reconnect the USB cable. Open Devices and Printers from the Windows Start menu, right-click your printer, and select 'See what's printing' — ensure neither 'Pause Printing' nor 'Use Printer Offline' is checked. Verify the HP DeskJet 2512 is set as the default printer. If issues persist, restart the Print Spooler service via Control Panel > Administrative Tools > Services, and clear the print queue.
